my neighborhood through the lens of my polaroid now
I’m thankful for all the years of shelter and memories my home has provided me, but it’s getting really boring to photograph. While walking to the cul-de-sac with my daughter I was trying to think of other places I could visit nearby. Then I realized that I never bring my camera with me on these walks. So, I loaded my Polaroid Now and my adventure began.
I did not realize how powerful this flash was. A lot of the photos are over exposed. Even though it was somewhat cloudy, it was still very bright outside and the photos probably would have come out a lot better if I remembered to turn off the flash.
Also, some are a bit out of focus. As someone who used to shoot a lot of macro, I tend to forget that only my Fujifilm has a macro lens.
If you’d like you can watch my short vlog to see the behind the scenes making of these photos.
So, what did I learn?
Turn off the flash on bright days. Unless my subject is far away. Then it doesn’t matter so much.
Don’t get so close to my subject. It will be out of focus.
How quiet my neighborhood is on a Monday afternoon.
I hope this inspired you to see your neighborhood a bit differently.
Thank you for being here.
